Ellisville Mayoral Candidate: Your Concern is My Concern

Robert Srote, candidate for Ellisville Mayor, introduces himself to the community as he seeks to continue in the spirit of the city's current leadership.

As a , I felt it appropriate to formally introduce myself via Patch, our community-specific news and information platform. I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri and graduated from Maryville University of St. Louis' with a Master of Business Administration Degree following my Bachelor of Science in Business Management degree. In addition, I received my Associate of Science Degree in Architectural Technology from Ranken Technical College in St. Louis. My family has a history of public service; my father a retired 23 year veteran of the Ballwin police department, my mother a retired veteran of the Military Personnel Records Center. My wife, Colleen (a registered nurse), and I reside in the home we built in Ellisville’s District 3 and are the proud parents of two children.

I am a residential architect by trade and, as did most Americans as the recession began to take hold, realized my profession and livelihood were in imminent danger. The economy took a turn for the worse and the housing industry began to systematically collapse. Compelled by my difficult circumstances I began exhaustively researching the specific origins of the recession in a no-holds-barred fashion. My extensive research resulted in the book Wildfire:The Legislation That Ignited the Great Recession published in January 2011, revealing a common-sense, clearly defined, 12-step process to get America back on the right track.

I intend to bring this same passion, if elected, to my duties as Mayor of Ellisville. Wildfire has opened several opportunities for me, one being a presentation in February to the World President’s Organization (a global organization of business leaders) regarding my book and recently developed 21st century definition of greed.

You will find several posts on this medium indicating my position on various issues affecting Ellisville. However, my concerns and positions on the issues are merely one small piece of the puzzle. The mutual concerns of the citizens west of New Ballwin Road, east of Downey Terrace Drive, south of Clayton Road and north of Quails Nest Road complete the puzzle and contribute to the overall success of our community. I intend to listen attentively to the concerns of every citizen and address them with passionate vigor. The success of Ellisville directly affects the success of our neighboring cities ultimately influencing the strength of our state and nation. I am adamant about positively influencing Ellisville by providing strong leadership while addressing citizens’ concerns with the candor they deserve.

Mayor Matt Pirrello, whose final term expires in April, has left our city in far better condition than when he took office in 2006; a daunting task given the severe economic climate of the last several years. On April 3, 2012 you will get the significant opportunity to select myself, or one of the other passionate and qualified candidates, to lead our city as Mayor into the future. Regardless of whom you vote for, please vote.
