Help the Salvation Army End Hunger in St. Louis this Weekend!

Join The Salvation Army, NewsChannel 5 and Walmart as we Turn Up The Heat On Hunger. Just because school is out does not mean a child should go hungry. Hunger never takes a summer break!

Join The Salvation Army, NewsChannel 5 and Walmart as we Turn Up The Heat On Hunger. Just because school is out does not mean a child should go hungry. Hunger never takes a summer break!

Stop by participating Walmart locations and make a food donation July 13, 14 and 15.  Food bins will be available at each entrance or make a donation online.

About 1 in 8 American children go to bed hungry every night. Help us stop this statistic from growing!

The Salvation Army feeds 122 hungry people every minute in the United States.  Last year, The Salvation Army provided more than 64 million meals for hungry children and families. We provided grocery and meal assistance to more than 98,000 people right here in our community - 269 people every day.

The Salvation Army is in need of the following: 

  • Canned Vegetables
  • Protein Items 
  • Canned Chicken
  • Canned Tuna 
  • Powdered Milk 
  • Peanut Butter 
  • Grains 
  • Noodles
  • Rice

Turn Up The Heat On Hunger is Walmart’s latest effort in the St. Louis region to help end hunger. Last year, Walmart and the Walmart Foundation committed $2 billion cash and in-kind, to fight hunger in America .
