Missouri Auditor Tom Schweich will be returning to the Rockwood School District Wednesday to present a follow-up report on his office’s audit of the district.

Schweich’s report, which was released in February, rated the district as “fair” and highlighted several serious issues with the its finances, including that it had overpaid Glenn Construction Company by about $1.2 million.

The presentation will, in part, address how much progress the school district has made in addressing the problems specified in the audit.

In the wake of the audit’s release in February, the district outlined a lengthy, five-step plan to address the issues raised in the findings. Rockwood has publicly tracked the changes made and action steps taken on the school district’s website

The follow-up review was scheduled because of “the number and seriousness” of the findings in the audit, Schweich said.
