Ballwin, Ellisville Students Make Collegiate Deans' Lists

Several students from Ballwin and Ellisville received academic honors for undergraduate studies at schools across the U.S.

Students from Ballwin and Ellisville received academic honors announced this month for undergraduate studies around the country. Check below to see if any of your neighbors or family friends made the list, and be sure to drop them a friendly congratulations if they did!

Katherine Kloster of Ballwin was one of 358 undergraduates named to the  2011 fall semester Dean's List at Denison University in Granville, OH. Students who achieve Dean's List status have maintained a grade point average of 3.7 or better (out of 4.0) for the semester. Kloster is a member of the Denison class of 2013.

• Benedictine College, in Atchison, KS, recently announced its fall honors lists, which included Kathleen Miller of Ballwin, Eric Mooney of Ballwin and Kelly Turntine of Ellisville. Students who distinguish themselves academically are named to the President's List or the Dean's List. To achieve the Dean's List, students must carry a minimum of 12 credit hours and have an average 3.5 to 3.9 grade point average.

Christine Albertelli of Ballwin has earned High Honors for the fall semester of the 2011-2012 academic year at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, NH. Students named to the Dean's List at the University of New Hamsphire have earned recognition through their superior scholastic performance. Highest Honors are awarded to students who earn a semester grade point average of 3.7 or better out of a possible 4.0. Students with a 3.5 to 3.69 average are awarded high honors and students whose grade point average is 3.2 through 3.49 are awarded honors.

• Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame, IN, named Maureen Cunningham of Ellisville to the Dean's List for the fall 2011 semester. Maureen is the daughter of Mary Ann and Terrence Cunningham. To earn academic honors, a student must achieve a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.6 on a 4.0 scale, have at least 12 graded credit hours, no incompletes and no grades lower than a C.

Emily C. Morse of Ballwin has been named to the Dean's List for the fall semester at Samford University in Birmingham, AL. To qualify for the honor, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. The Dean's List is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester.

• The Dean's List recognizes those students who have shown high academic performance during the past semester at Westminster College in Fulton, MO. Local students named for the fall 2011-2012 semester include: Kaitlin Aubuchon, a junior from Ballwin, David Abraham, a senior from Ballwin and Mark Wright, a senior from Ellisville. To be included on the Dean's List, a student must have a 3.60 semester grade point average with at least 12 hours completed that semester.
