Ballwin Teacher Named Parkway's Grade School Teacher of the Year

Instructor Allison Love was praised by a colleague for her engaging and creative lessons with her first-, second- and third-grade students.

Allison Love, a math intervention specialist at in Ballwin, was named the 2012 Elementary and District Teacher of the Year, the Parkway School District announced Monday.

Love has been with Parkway and teaching at Sorrento Springs for seven years. During that time, she has taught first, second and third grade students, and currently serves as a math intervention specialist. Sorrento Springs Principal Dr. Jennifer Martin said Love’s lessons are highly engaging, inspire creativity and build excitement for math learners.

Love will go on to represent the district in the Missouri Teacher of the Year recognition program.

Also honored this week were Stephanie Reinhart, a communication arts teacher at Southwest Middle School, who won the district’s middle school teacher of the year award, and Scott Nilsen, a social studies teacher at North High School, who won the high school teacher of the year award.
