In a news release recently posted on Patch, school staff announced construction is underway at the new Raintree Learning Community at 2000 to 2016 Amonte Drive in Town and Country, along Mason Road near Manchester Road.

As previously reported by Patch, the school is moving from its current location in Ballwin to this new location that allows more room for exploring and studying nature.  Owner Ilya Eydelman started Raintree in Ballwin in 2006, but said he
selected the Town and Country location for the green school because of its natural surroundings which he said is ideal for the school's nature-based curriculum.

The school's owners plan to have the new school open in Town and Country for the 2013-2014 school year. It's being built on vacant lots that were previously approved to be the Amonte Subdivision.

According to the announcement posted on Patch, the $2.3 million Raintree Learning Comunity is the area’s only Reggio Emilia-inspired Forest School.  The new private kindergarten and preschool building offers 6,800 square feet of learning space with classrooms, an art studio, a teaching kitchen, dining room, an outdoor piazza, a nature-based playground, a large garden and acres of land for exploration. The school will serve approximately 70 children from ages two to six.

The school will be accessed from Mason Road, but the building itself would sit more than 300 feet back from the road. The one-story building would sit on the almost 11-acres.
