Crestview Middle Teacher Named District's Best

Science teacher Elizabeth Boyce received special honors from the Rockwood School District over the weekend.

Crestview Middle School teacher Elizabeth Boyce was named "Teacher of the Year" by the Rockwood School District on Sunday.

At the school district's Rockwood Outstanding Service in Education or "ROSE" Awards, Boyce was honored for her work as a science teacher for the eighth-grade class.

"I have a passion for education and I know that all students in the classroom, regardless of their age, have a story to share about where they have been, whom they have met along the way, and how all this has made them feel about themselves and about life in general," Boyce said in a media statement.

"While I introduce my students to new science knowledge and teach them skills needed for solving scientific problems in the classroom, my role as an educator goes beyond teaching this content to include creating an environment that lets the students know I am interested and excited to hear their personal histories and their visions for the future."
