Learn First Aid for Fido, Help Ellisville's Dog Park

A local veterinarian will show animal lovers how to respond to emergency medical situations for their pet in two upcoming seminars designed to raise funding for the City of Ellisville's .

Dr. David D. Roberts of the Manchester West Veterinary Hospital will teach attendees how to respond to minor emergencies as well as major ones, in addition to tips on the best items to keep on hand in case of a pet emergency. Metro West Fire Protection District personnel also will be present to talk about fire safety, prevention and pet rescue.

Each attendee will receive a pet first aid kit complete with a quick reference card, emergency telephone numbers and essential, hand chosen items from the staff at Manchester West Veterinary Hospital. There will also be prizes given away throughout the class.

• We are offering the class twice to accommodate everyone’s schedule: Thursday evening January 26 from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. or Saturday afternoon February 4 from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m.

• Classes will be held in the Bluebird Park administration building in Ellisville.

• Class sizes are limited to 100 people each. No pets will be allowed at this seminar due to space constraints.

• Entrance fee is $20 per attendee. 100 percent of the entrance fee will go to the Ellisville Dog Park Fund. Manchester West Veterinary Hospital will match all money raised from the seminars. You must register to attend. You can pay online by credit card when you register, or you can pay by cash or check at the door. Credit cards will not be accepted at the door.
