Lecture by Jimmie Briggs, Founder of "Man Up" a campaign to stop violence against women

The Amnesty International chapter of St. Louis Community College at Wildwood proudly presents award-winning journalist, author, lecturer and co-founder and executive director of "Man Up," a campaign to stop violence against women. Briggs has worked for the UN Special Session on Children, Seeds of Peace in New York City and Kabul, Afghanistan, and numerous other organizations including Oxfam, Amnesty International, The ENOUGH project and the American Red Cross. He has served as an adjunct professor of investigative journalism at the New School for Social Research and was a George A. Miller Visiting Professor in the Department of African and African-Ameerican Studies at the University of Illinois: Champaign-Urbana. His most recent book, "The Wars Women Fight: Dispatches from A Father to His Daughter," was published in 2010.
