A recommendation on the proposal to combine the Parkway and Rockwood community education programs will go before school board members of both districts Thursday night in a joint meeting set for 7p.m. at Crestview Middle School in Ellisville.
Community education offers classes to residents of all ages on a variety of subjects.
If approved by the boards, the partnership, called “The Parkway Rockwood Community Education Program” would begin July 1, 2014.
The parameters of the program are spelled out in this cooperative agreement. As Patch has previously reported, the two districts have been looking for more than a year at a partnership.
If approved, Rockwood schools would provide overall management services for the agreement. The partnership would not immediately include the districts' swim clubs and Adult Education and Literacy programs.
