Parkway and Rockwood Schools to Remain Closed

All public schools in Ballwin and Ellisville will continue to hold off on classes through Thursday.

Parkway and Rockwood schools will stay closed at least through Thursday, district officials announced late Wednesday afternoon.

Thursday's cancellation will mark the seventh day this year district officials called off classes because of weather conditions.

Rockwood school officials said the cancellation means the district's last day of classes for elementary and middle school students will be May 27, while high school students' last day will be May 31, excluding seniors.

Cathy Kelly of the Parkway School District said Parkway, too, could finish with a May 31 end date, but will examine possible alternatives in the coming weeks, including cancelling holidays.

"They also could say were going to take 2 days out of spring break. So it's really up in the air," Kelly said.
