"Nationally, while the actual number of students earning a composite score of 36 varies from year to year, less than one-tenth of 1 percent of students who take the ACT earn a top score of 36. In 2011, more than 1.6 million students took the ACT exam," Parkway stated in a news release.
The ACT consists of tests in English, math, reading and science and is scored on a scale of 1-36. A student’s composite score is the average of all four test scores, Parkway stated in the release. The purpose of the test is to assess a student's general educational development and their ability to complete college-level work.
