The brand now reads "Parkway Schools" instead of "Parkway School District," and features a logo with a book and sunburst accompanied by the phrase, “Higher Expectations. Brighter Futures.”

The district is excited to unveil the new logo, but Parkway Director of Communications Paul Tandy said in an email to Patch, “The focus is really on our new mission, vision and five-year strategic plan that was developed over the past two years through Project Parkway. The new logo and brand are simply a reflection of that."

During the kickoff rally, Superintendent Keith Marty had the opportunity to show a slideshow of his family, and addressed a need for the district to work as a unified group, he said.

“I’m not criticizing the work we’ve done," Marty said. "You’ve worked hard to achieve a great deal. But if we want to move to 100 percent, we want to move that continuum from good to great, the likelihood is that we’re going to have to take a look at things differently."
