Parkway West Seniors Take Life's Next Step

Parkway West High School's Class of 2011 looked back on the past and forward to the future at Saturday's graduation ceremony.

The crowd at Queeny Park was full of excitement on Saturday night, and for a good reason: The families of graduates had a lot to be proud of with a class of nearly 400 students receiving their diplomas.

The Salutatorian for the class of 2011 was Laura Michel and the Valedictorian was Hope Bretscher. The graduates also were addressed by classmates Saad Amir and Amanuel Habtu.

"I don't think I could have had a better class to spend my first year with at Parkway West," said Jeremy Mitchell, the school's principal who completed his first year with the Longhorns this spring. "They were welcoming, warm and kindβ€”a fine group of ladies and gentlemen."
