Rigabar Withdraws Rockwood Board Candidacy

A Wildwood resident currently serving on the Rockwood School District Board of Education withdrew his candidacy from the April election.

School board member Geoff Rigabar withdrew his candidacy for the Board of Education, the school district announced Wednesday.

Rigabar cited personal and professional responsibilities as factors in his decision not to run in the April 3 election, according to a statement released by Rockwood.

β€œI am enjoying my service on the board. I continue to learn, and I continue to be impressed with the great work taking place for students in this outstanding district," said Rigabar, who resides in Wildwood.

In November, Rigabar was selected by board of education directors to fill the position left open by Matthew Fitzpatrick, who resigned in October. (See related article: )

Rigabar, who took the oath of office at the Dec. 1 school board meeting, will continue serving on the board until April's general election.

will be seeking the two available slots:Β  Victor Hieken, Sherri Rogers, Jennifer Kelly and Bill Brown. Two new directors will be elected to each serve three-year terms.
