Westridge Students Walk It Out in Ballwin

A day dedicated to health and exercise provided students in Ballwin some time to stretch their legs early Wednesday.

Students at in Ballwin decided to travel to class the old-fashioned way in the name of fitness early Wednesday.

“Rockwood understands the importance of physical activity and the district works to promote opportunities for students and staff to get active so they can live happy, healthy lives,” said Eddie Mattison, facilitator of health and physical education. “Walk and Bike to School Day is one way we can come together in celebration of health and fitness.”

Participating students and staff at Westridge opted to walk to the school, followed by a victory lap around the school's track for some students to help commemorate the day, a Rockwood School District representative said.

Students at Kellison Elementary School in Fenton also participated in Walk and Bike to School Day on Wednesday.
