Which CCL Teacher is Rockwood's Elementary School Teacher of the Year?

This Center for Creative Learning School teacher teaches music in Ellisville.

Aron Blanke was named the 2013 Elementary School Teacher of the Year. Blanke has taught in the Rockwood School District since 1995, according to district sources, and is currently a music teacher at the Center for Creative Learning in Ellisville. 

Blanke said in a district announcement he loves music, and strives to provide an atmosphere where students aren’t afraid to take creative risks. 

“In my classroom, learning is personal. Students are able to apply what they have learned to their own life and create something new," he said.

“The best part is that they can teach someone else.”

He holds both a bachelor’s degree in music education and a master’s degree in music education technology from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.  In addition, he completed the gifted certification graduate program from Maryville University.

On May 5, Blanke will be honored as the Elementary School Teacher of the Year.
