Ballwin Swimmer Competes in 'Speedo' Championship at Mizzou

Rockwood Swim Club Association competitors placed in multiple events at the four-day event hosted in Columbia, MO.

Rockwood Swim Club athletes recently competed in the 2011 CSRVIII Summer LC Speedo Championship Meet at the University of Missouri. The team finished third overall.

Lauren Votava of Des Peres placed second in the 50 Free.

Nick Davis from Chesterfield also took second in the 800 and 1500 Free.

New junior cuts were for Davis in the 800 Free, and Garin Marlow, a Ballwin resident, in the 200 Backstroke.

The Rockwood Swim Club girls took second in all three relays in which they competed at the four-day event, which ran from July 20 to 23. The 400 Free Relay team included Caroline Rodriquez, Wildwood's Jessica Holz, Lauren Votava, of Des Peres, and Tennyson Henry from St. Charles.

The girls' 800 Free Relay team was Lauren Votava, Jordan Stout, of Wildwood, Jessica Holz and Tennyson Henry.

The girls' 400 Medley Relay team consisted of Samanatha Wright, of Wildwood, Liza Poskin, of Chesterfield, Lauren Votava and Jordan Stout.

The boys' team score included six places in the 800 Free, five places in the 1500 Free and four places in the 400 Free.
