Additional Information:

  • Kickboxing is Seeking Olympic Acceptance.   KICK International™ is recognized as the National Governing Body in North America for the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO) which is the exclusive world governing body approved under the General Assembly of International Sports Federations. As such, the GAISF is formatting and guiding our sports for future Olympic acceptance.

  • Roots for American Kickboxing lead back to St. Louis.  In the late ‘60’s and early ‘70’s, Mike Anderson, known as the Grandfather of Kickboxing, worked with Frank Babcock to locally build a variety of Kickboxing programs which led to the launch of KICK International™ whose mission is devoted to governing safety guidelines for the sport.
  • The National Tournament of Champions will not only determine TEAM USA who will compete Internationally, but will also be the focus of a medical study which identifies safety measures to reduce head injuries to athletes.  This Study will be organized by KICK Board Member David Wang MD MS.  Wang is a member of the USA Olympic Sports Medicine Society (2000-present) and a noted sports medicine physician. He also serves the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine (1993-present) specializing in medical grant research for head and knee injuries and heads up research and evaluation of combat sports specific injuries and specialized safety equipment.
