Frank Haith: Ryan Rosburg Will Get His Shot On The Court This Season At Mizzou

University of Missouri Head Basketball Coach Frank Haith heaped praise on the Marquette grad in an interview with Patch Thursday.

In just under two weeks, the University of Missouri Tigers Men's Basketball team will open the 2012-2013 campaign against Northwest Missouri State with just 2 players who saw action for the Tigers in the 2011-2012 campaign.

Among the new faces in Columbia this season is Ryan Rosburg, fresh off a standout career at Marquette High School. A few of his new teammates told Patch over the summer that Rosburg was developing well, and Thursday, his head coach reinforced that notion, saying he'd likely see action as part of the Mizzou rotation that could go as many as 9 or 10 players deep.

"He's not afraid to throw his body around. And I like that about him. A young kid who's not afraid to use his back and chest, play defense and go ahead and rebound in traffic," Haith said, also praising Rosburg's passing ability.

The coach added that Rosburg impressed during the team's trip to Europe over the summer and surprised the staff with his skillset. Rosburg figures to back up Alex Oriakhi, a transfer from the University of Connecticut who is also a newcomer to the Tiger squad.
