Lancers, Wildcats Softball Teams Compete in Suburban South/West Conference Tournament

This week, 16 St. Louis area softball teams vie with each other in a tournament at Chesterfield Athletic Association. After Tuesday evening's play, Eureka is still in the hunt for the title.

A 16-team softball tournament anchored from the Chesterfield Athletic Association has St. Louis area softball players busy this week, including the and girls' varsity teams.

High school teams competing in the 2011 Suburban South/West Conference Softball Tournament include:Β  Eureka, Lafayette, Marquette, Fox, Kirkwood, Lindbergh, Mehlville, Northwest, Oakville, Parkway Central, Parkway North, Parkway South, Parkway West, Rockwood Summit, Seckman and Webster Groves.

Lafayette first played Fox on Tuesday, winning 10-2. Lafayette's second game that evening pitted them against Eureka, with Eureka coming out on top 10-6.

Eureka's first game on Tuesday was against Parkway Central, and they won 14-1.

Head coach for Eureka is Mark Mosley; Scott DeNoyer heads up the Lafayette team.
