Pewee Football in Ellisville Cultivates Small Players, Big Hits

Practice at Bluebird Park on Tuesday was part of a week of 'spring training' for a team under the Chesterfield Football League.

Most big things start out small, and football is no exception.

A team with the Chesterfield Football league under coach Scott Callahan praticed at Bluebird Park in Ellisville on Tuesday, when players in the leauge's 3rd Grade division practiced their tackling and more in anticipation of the season ahead.

Among the parents on the sidelines Tuesday was Michelle Wagner, a teacher at Rose Acres Elementary School in Maryland Heights. For her son, 8 year-old Alex Wagner, Tuesday's practice was the second dose of football following a practice with the Gary Kornfeld St. Louis University High School Football Camp.
