Leaving Kids at Home: When Is the Right Age?

The Pointe at Ballwin Commons is offering a class to prepare children to stay home alone.

The Β is hosting a "Home Alone" program on Aug. 1, running from 6 to 8 p.m. The cost is $20. According to the description of the program:

"Help prepare your child ages 9 to 11 to stay home alone before or after school or for other short periods of time in this interactive program.Β  Topics covered include: entering and leaving the house, getting safely to and from school, what to do while home alone, safe snacks, storm and emergency preparedness, internet safety, and simple first aid."
