On the tails of a primary victory in Alabama, Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum is scheduled to travel through St. Louis County this weekend.

Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum is expected to visit Ballwin on Saturday, the day of St. Louis County's Republican caucuses. Santorum is scheduled to appear in Chesterfield Township at 8 a.m. Saturday at Westminster Christian Academy at 800 Maryville Centre Drive, St. Louis. Robert C. Jones, Jr., who served the City of Ballwin as Mayor from 1965 to 1971, died Saturday. He was 78 years old. Jones' career included working for four different law firms and multiple municipalities over a five-decade span. Before pursuing law, however, which helped Jones establish a positive reputation locally, his skills on the baseball diamond once presented a vastly different career path. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Jones had graduated from Brentwood High School in 1951, then pitched and played infield for local teams in the 1950s, including those under the Ballwin Athletic Association. That led to an offer to play minor league baseball in Detroit—an offer that ultimately was turned down in favor of a law degree …

Ellisville has become a target in a class-action lawsuit involving the city's former use of red-light cameras.
The City of Ellisville and three other municipalities are being sued in a class-action lawsuit targeting the cities' use of red-light cameras. In addition to Creve Coeur, Arnold and Florissant, as well as camera vendor American Traffic Solutions (or ATS), Ellisville was named in the suit filed earlier this month, which first was reported by The Riverfront Times. The suit seeks refunds for those who have been ticketed using red-light camera technology in those cities, in addition to stopping the use of the cameras in municipalities where they still are active, which is the case in Ellisville. In the first 13 months of operation, red-light cameras at the intersection of Clarkson and Manchester Roads generated 17,000 violations that resulted …

Essen, Patricia Elise (nee Wolf), passed away, Friday, July 29, 2011 to enter eternity with Jesus, sister Harriet Davey, and parents Minnie and Harry E. Wolf. Pat is survived by her loving and devoted husband of nearly 64 years, Donald F. Essen, whom she married on September 27, 1947. Pat also leaves behind daughter Sue Essen and son-in-law Anthony Kenworthy, daughters Maud Essen, Joanie Essen, and Mary Detrich, grandsons Nick Detrich and Ed Detrich, nieces Judith Hornbeck, Pat Keeley, and Sally Ling, and many dear friends. Pat's long career as a civic leader included volunteer services for--St. John's Lutheran Church and school, C.E.A.
