PHOTOS: Parkway South Class of 2012 Graduates

Thousands gathered at Queeny Park's auditorium to see the students of the Parkway South High School's Class of 2012 receive their diploma.

For the Parkway South High School Class of 2012, school is finally over.  Friday night, 470 students received their diploma at the school's graduation ceremony, held at Queeny Park's auditorium.  Approximately 3,000 people gathered there to see the students, who achieved several academic successes.  (Be sure to follow Patch on Facebook - check out our page and "Like" it here.) For the class of 2012, there was a total of $11 million in scholarships awarded to students.  Salutatorian for the 2012 class was Heather Dawn Wilson, who had a grade point average of 4.65 cumulative. Emily Shannon Cheng, the valedictorian, had a GPA of 4.821. This year's graduation ceremony was the last one for Parkway South Principal Gary Mazzola, who is retiring …

St. Louis Beacon: Ed Martin Staying In House Race

The congressional candidate considered a bid for the GOP nomination for Governor.

The St. Louis Beacon is reporting that Ed Martin, who after a recent KMOX radio appearance caused a stir in political circles by suggesting he would consider entering the GOP race for Governor, has decided to remain in the Republican primary for the 2nd Congressional district. Martin is opposed by former RNC Co-Chair Ann Wagner, who has also fended off questions about switching to another contest, in light of her strong fundraising totals.
