Another driver was injured after the woman drove her car into other vehicles stopped at at traffic light on Highway 141.
A West County driver faces a criminal charge after the woman struck two cars waiting at a stoplight on southbound Highway 141 in Ballwin, injuring another driver. St. Louis County Police said the woman who caused the accident was driving while intoxicated. Sarah C. Johnson, 42, of the 2400 block of Barrett Heights Drive in West County, was charged Saturday with second-degree assault. St. Louis County Police said Johnson was southbound on Highway 141 and hit cars stopped at a stoplight near Milldale Drive and Manoro Way at the Ballwin city limits. One of the other drivers fractured a vertebra, police said. An officer responding to the accident smelled alcohol on Johnson, who told the officer she had two glasses of wine before driving. …

A Valley Park woman who gave a ride to a couple, one of whom was walking with the aid of a walker, on a cold, windy day Nov. 11, had her car stolen and crashed in return. St. Louis County Police said the woman gave a ride to Michael A. Null Jr., 34, who was using a walker and his female companion. Null's companion told the woman Null's walker bent and he had fallen. The woman offered to give them a ride and told them she had a walker at her home, which she no longer needed and would give it to them. She drove the couple to her home in the 200 block of Lookout Avenue and left her keys in the car with the motor running. A man was charged July 13 with trying to cut another man with a box cutter in an Ellisville bar. Nicholas Pontello, 21, of the 200 block of Hilltop Drive in Ellisville, faces a second-degree assault charge. Ellisville Police said the man had been banned from Alibi 25, a bar and grill in the Maple Tree Center at 15856 Clayton Road, but he arrived there about 10:45 p.m. July 12. According to police, employees and at least one patron tried to convince him to leave peacefully. According to the report, Pontello swung a box cutter at one of the employees, missing his head by inches. The blade was exposed. Bond was set for Pontello at $20,000. A man from the Ballwin area is being charged with felonious restraint and third-degree assault stemming from an incident Friday in Mehlville. According to a St. Louis County Police report, Matthew A. Carta, 31, of the 700 block of Overlook Circle in Valley Park, assaulted a woman, choking her and preventing her from getting away. The victim was visiting with Carta in the 2600 block of Park Hill in Mehlville, when he refused to allow her to leave. He started choking her and tried to force her into another room, the police report said. The woman eventually unlocked the door and fled. Bond was set at $20,000. A man who was assaulted in Ballwin Thursday night was hospitalized later that evening after reportedly calling for help from a gas station.
Police said a man was assaulted in Ballwin late Thursday sometime prior to a call around 9:25 p.m. from the Phillips 66 gas station near the intersection of Woods Mill and Clayton roads. Ballwin police did arrive on the scene to investigate, Town & Country law enforcement said. The unidentified man was hospitalized, police said. The extent of the victim's injuries, however, were not reported. Further investigations of the incident will be handled by the Ballwin Police Department.
