Ballwin Parks and Recreation distributed prizes to the winners of the eight-race series this year.
The following information was provided by the City of Ballwin Parks and Recreation Department. Ballwin Parks and Recreation Department awarded the top point-earners from the 2012 Ballwin Race Series this week. Prizes were given at the Pointe at Ballwin Commons Dec. 6. One man and one woman won at each place level. The top finishers and their prizes included: The 2012 Ballwin Race Series included eight races: Upside Down Indoor Triathlon, Dirty Spokes Mountain Bike Race, Conquer Castlewood Team Adventure Race, Ballwin Days Run, Ballwin Triathlon, Ballwin Kids’ Triathlon, Zombie Chase Trail Run, and Midnight Howl 5K. Canoe racing, biking and running all will be represented in the three-event race planned for Sunday.
Conquer Castlewood returns to Castlewood State Park on Sunday for the eleventh year. The event brings together three styles of racing with contenders going by foot, mountain bike and canoe in order to compete. Th event, which is co-hosted by Ballwin Parks & Recreation as part of the Ballwin Race Series, will include two-person teams checking into the Park early Sunday. Pre-registration is required, although competitors still are welcome to sign up before the weekend event. “I’ve had people in the past come from Indiana and from different states.
