A car thief hit the jackpot in Ballwin last week, grabbing more than $100 in cash out of an unlocked vehicle. The Ballwin Police reported that sometime between 4 p.m., Jan. 23, and 5 a.m., Jan. 24, an unknown suspect entered an unlocked vehicle while it was parked in the 400 block of Vail Court and took $120 cash. An unfortunate trend is occurring: Ellisville and Ballwin police reports continue to include stolen items from unlocked vehicles. This week, Ellisville Police reported another similar situation. Between 6 p.m. Aug. 21 and 7:15 a.m. Aug. 22, a laptop computer was stolen from the backseat of an unlocked vehicle parked in a residence driveway on the 1200 block of Polo Lake Drive.
