Christmas Tree Pick-Up Dates in Ellisville

Keeping the tree up a little longer? Find out when Ellisville is offering pick-up for this year's live Christmas trees.

The City of Ellisville is offering Christmas tree pick-up dates for live trees from this holiday season. District 2 residents can have their trees picked up Jan. 9, 2013. District 3's day is Jan. 10, and District 1 is Jan. 11. FOX2 shared these tips to prep your tree for pick-up and recycling drop-offs in St. Louis County: Another tree recycling location for St. Louis County is at Creve Coeur Lake in Maryland Heights. Recycled tree parts will be used to help create a fish habitat at Busch Wildlife Conservation Area. Donations are accepted through Jan. 13. What To Do With Your Christmas Tree

Wondering what to do with your tree now that Christmas is over? The St. Louis County Department of Health has some ideas about reusing and recycling.

Christmas trees are objects of beauty and cheer—until Dec. 26, that is, when they can become a chore for families wondering what to do with them now that Christmas is over. The St. Louis County Department of Health has a few environmentally friendly ideas for what to do with your tree: If you live on or near a few acres of open land, use your live tree to create a wildlife habitat. Place the tree in a field as cover for small animals or submerge the tree in a pond or lake for a fish habitat. Do not dump the tree in a ravine or along an eroding bank.
