That's a great idea. And while we're at it, let's ticket trash trucks, highway department vehicles, utility trucks, school buses and any other vehicle that doesn't drive close to the maximum speed. Sorry, Patrick, the only place there is a minimum speed is on interstate highways. Bicycles are legitimate users of the road, and apologies to you on behalf of all cyclists for the extra 15 seconds …   more ›

I assume you are referring to 141 in Valley Park just north of I-44. That is the only spot where 141 crosses the Meramec River. We do have future plans to rebuild the 141 and I-44 interchange so it can be considered with those designs.   more ›

Would MoDOT PLEASE considfer adding a larger shoulder or sidewalk from the entrance of the Marisol subdivision (located on W) to the intersection of W and 109. It would be less than a 1/2 mile stretch. My concern is for the residents of Marisol who jog or ride a bike from the subdivison into the town of Eureka where they are able to access a trail. W is such a dangerous road to begin with, plus …   more ›

PHOTOS: Schnucks at Kehrs Mill Construction Update

Construction keeps trucking at the new Schnucks location at Kehrs Mill and Clarkson Road.

With the opening date continuing to be pushed back, construction proceeds on the new "boutique" Schnucks at the corner of Kehrs Mill and Clarkson Road. Jonathan Dirksen, senior personnel specialist for Schnucks, told Patch the location is still hiring and hosting open interviews this coming week at the current Ballwin and Chesterfield locations. Dirksen added the opening date is not affirmed, but that it will be "at least another month." These photos of construction progress were shot Sept. 27. RELATED ARTICLES:

The nearby home owners will get screwed like the new Schnucks did to a residential neighborhood. Everyone better protest or sell your house NOW or you'll see that no one wants it unless it is heavily discounted. This is a FACT   more ›

Construction Progresses for 'Boutique' Schnucks on Kehrs Mill

Patch takes a look at how the Schnucks building is shaping up as construction continues past an original "midsummer" opening goal.

The Schnucks Market being built at Clarkson and Kehrs Mill Roads is still making its way in construction since the idea first came about in Ballwin almost three years ago. Schnucks Communications Director Lori Willis originally told Patch in April that the store would seek an opening "sometime mid-summer, in July or August." Patch took a peek at construction progress Sept. 4, where, visibly, exterior walls were acquiring detailing and facade placement. RELATED ARTICLES:

That has got to be one of the ugliest fences they put up to block the store from the neighbors. Why didn't they do like Dierberg's did at several of their locations and at least make it attractive for the residents? This whole project is such an eyesore. Does schnucks not have any pride?   more ›

'Floor Trader' Move Means Store Ownership in Ballwin

The new retail and service outlet is expected to complete its move out of Manchester later this summer.

A new retail outlet for flooring being constructed west of Ballpark Drive on Manchester Road is scheduled for completion in roughly 4 to 8 weeks, when franchise operators of Floor Trader in Manchester will move their operation west into the City of Ballwin. The new location for Floor Trader means the business's management will own the new facility, Ballwin City Planer Tom Aiken said Tuesday, opposed to the current store located at 14336 Manchester Road which is rented. Aiken said he expected the project to be completed later this summer, noting that installation of the new facility's roof and other infrastructure is still being completed. "It's a pretty simple project so my guess is it'll probably (open) around July. Somewhere in that time…
