West County Woman Charged With Assault in DWI Crash

Another driver was injured after the woman drove her car into other vehicles stopped at at traffic light on Highway 141.

A West County driver faces a criminal charge after the woman struck two cars waiting at a stoplight on southbound Highway 141 in Ballwin, injuring another driver. St. Louis County Police said the woman who caused the accident was driving while intoxicated. Sarah C. Johnson, 42, of the 2400 block of Barrett Heights Drive in West County, was charged Saturday with second-degree assault. St. Louis County Police said Johnson was southbound on Highway 141 and hit cars stopped at a stoplight near Milldale Drive and Manoro Way at the Ballwin city limits. One of the other drivers fractured a vertebra, police said. An officer responding to the accident smelled alcohol on Johnson, who told the officer she had two glasses of wine before driving. …

Good Samaritan Gets Car Stolen, Wrecked in Police Chase

A man in an SUV struck by the stolen car was injured, briefly losing consciousness and was hospitalized.

A Valley Park woman who gave a ride to a couple, one of whom was walking with the aid of a walker, on a cold, windy day Nov. 11, had her car stolen and crashed in return. St. Louis County Police said the woman gave a ride to Michael A. Null Jr., 34, who was using a walker and his female companion. Null's companion told the woman Null's walker bent and he had fallen. The woman offered to give them a ride and told them she had a walker at her home, which she no longer needed and would give it to them. She drove the couple to her home in the 200 block of Lookout Avenue and left her keys in the car with the motor running. Fatal Crash in MoDOT I-270 Work Zone

One person was reportedly killed Friday morning when they struck a work vehicle in the I-270 work zone between Highway 44 and Manchester Road.

The crash happened around 3:15 a.m. Friday in the northbound lanes of I-270 near Dougherty Ferry Road when a driver struck a workers vehicle, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The crash had traffic on Interstate 270 backed up traffic for hours, even into the morning rush hour. According to stltoday.com, the highway patrol confirms one person died in the accident. That person's name has not been released. Kara Price, a spokeswoman for the Missouri Department of Transportation confirms the accident happened in the work zone for the I-270 expansion project that began this week.
