Destruction of Property: Sometime between 8 - 8:15 p.m.. May 7, the entire passenger side of a 2006 Scion was keyed while the car was parked on the parking lot in the 300 block of Carmel Woods. The American Civil Liberties Union has sued the city over its practice of ticketing drivers who warn others about speed traps.
Media reports say the city of Ellisville is facing a lawsuit from the American Civil Liberties Union over the city's practice of ticketing drivers who warn others about speed traps by flashing their headlights. Patch news partner Fox2Now reported that the ACLU's lawsuit says the city is breaking the law by ticketing those drivers, who have faced fines of as much as $1,000. A FOX2 reporter tried to get a comment from the city, but couldn't reach the city attorney, Paul Martin. The news station said in its report "City Manager Kevin Bookout instructed the chief of police not to comment on this subject because of the pending lawsuit." Ellisville Police Department officers responded to a call about an unresponsive male at Trends Motel off Manchester Road Wednesday evening.
A man was found dead Wednesday evening at the Trends Motel, 15652 Manchester Rd. in Ellisville. Ellisville Police Department officers on the scene tell Patch no details can be released until the man's next of kin is notified. Ellisville police are investigating a report of larceny involving the Assistance League of St. Louis building.

Ellisville Police Department provides information on crime incidents in the area.
Ellisville Police are investigating a case of felony stealing after an Ellisville man took a wallet, purse and suitcase from a residence in the area and then used the victim’s debit card to make several purchases. The incident occurred on Jan. 17 at a home on Hutchinson Road and the suspect is a 25-year-old male. Police said the total value of these items was around $800.
