Ballwin Police Officer Wins Match at Guns 'N Hoses

DOWNTOWN ST. LOUIS – Ballwin police officer Mike Sweet figured there was no way a five-minute fight could be worse than what he had done as an MMA fighter when he was younger. But Sweet soon found out he couldn't have been more wrong. Facing Thurman Rhodes of the St. Louis Fire Department at the 24th annual Guns N' Hoses event at the Scottrade Center Wednesday night, it didn't take Sweet long to realize he was in for a battle. "It's a lot more tiring than I thought it would be," Sweet said. "When you are training, you go against people you know and you kind of get in the groove of them, but somebody you haven't fought before, it's a whole different beast.
