Friday's rock blast and I-270 closures between I-44 and Manchester Road are canceled due to rain and the holiday.
The Missouri Department of Transportation stated in a news release that it canceled its daily Interstate 270 lane closures Friday due to the rain and holiday. MoDOT has been performing rock blasts and briefly closing I-270 between Manchester Road and Interstate 44 as part of the road widening construction project. The closures take place weekdays at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., for approximately 15 minutes each time. The next rock blast will take place at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4, according to MoDOT. The closures are then set to continue weekdays throughout the summer. All of this construction is weather permitting. Traffic was stop-and-go from Page Avenue to the Interstate 70 and I-270 intersection from about noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Update at 7:47 p.m. Aug. 29 The Missouri State Highway Patrol has released the identity of a High Ridge, Mo., woman who died in Wednesday's crash. The patrol says Mary Barnett, 28, of High Ridge, was driving a 2005 Ford Focus when she tried to change lanes heading northbound on Interstate 270. Her vehicle struck one car and was struck by another. A fourth vehicle was also involved in the accident. All four drivers were transported to De Paul Hospital where Bennett was pronounced dead. The other three drivers, including Michael Black, of Ballwin, were treated for minor injuries. The accident occurred just after noon Wednesday as the four cars involved were travelling north on I-270. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report…

MoDOT crews will be narrowing lanes on I-270 between Manchester Road and I-44. They'll also be doing maintenance work throughout the area in the next week.
Lanes narrowing on I-270 Missouri Department of Transportation crews have begun narrowing lanes on northbound and southbound Interstate 270 between Manchester Road and Interstate 44. Over the next week, motorists will see various night lane closures in this area for asphalt paving operations. The work is scheduled for 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. weekdays and is part of a two-year widening project on I-270. Painting, patching and striping Crews will be painting bridges, patching potholes and striping roads throughout the region next week. Motorists are reminded to slow down when approaching work zones or moving operations on the roadways. Motorists should be aware of the following on-going closures:
