Politicos around Missouri are buzzing with word that a former Missouri state senator and his wife, a former area radio talk show host, will be featured in the ABC reality TV show "Wife Swap" next with a polyamorous plot twist. According to the network: Political pundit and Tea Party activist Gina Loudon trades lives with a mom in a polyamorous relationship, on "Wife Swap," THURSDAY, MARCH 28 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on ABC. And in a first for the series, one of the families breaks the rules and refuses to reunite at the round table to discuss their experiences, leaving only one family to discuss things among themselves. The Missouri Department of Transportation announced MoDOT Director Kevin Keith's resignation today. Effective immediately, Chief Engineer Dave Nichols will serve as interim director.
Thursday afternoon, the Missouri Department of Transportation announced a change in leadership with the sudden resignation of MoDOT Director Kevin Keith who is taking medical leave immediately. MoDOT released details of the change in the following news release. The Missouri Department of Transportation will see a change in leadership as MoDOT Director Kevin Keith steps down and Chief Engineer Dave Nichols assumes the role of interim director for the department. Keith has submitted his resignation and will leave his role effective immediately, taking a medical leave of absence with plans to retire on July 1, 2013. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is kicking up enforcement this weekend searching for drunk drivers as St. Patrick's Day celebrations take place around the St. Louis area.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) is warning drivers to "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over." Troopers and other police departments around the St. Louis area will be taking place in enforcing the campaign as St. Patrick's Day festivities take place throughout the area. The MSHP made the announcement in a recent news release. During the period of March 14-17, police are cracking down on drunk driving by conducting DWI saturations in an effort to remove impaired drivers from the road. Impaired driving contributes to nearly 30 percent of all Missouri fatal traffic crashes, the release stated. Here are the results from last weekend's Operation A.R.R.E.S.T. in St. Louis County. It was focused on cracking down on impaired driving.
Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) officers released the results in of the crackdown in a news release. As previously reported by Patch, “Operation A.R.R.E.S.T” (Alcohol Related Response Enforcement Strike Team) took place last weekend in St. Louis County Saturday. According to the recent news release, the eight-hour operation netted the following results.

The Parkway School Board is considering delaying the review of the district's Early Retirement Incentive Plan while it waits for the Missouri State Legislature to make a decision on pensions.
The Parkway School Board is considering a delay in reviewing the district's early retirement incentive policy. The Parkway School District's current policy allows early retirment for teachers with between 25 and 31 years of credited service in the Missouri Public School Retirment System and at least 10 years with the Parkway School District. The program, in its current from, is set to expire in 2014 and is scheduled for review this year. Missouri Governor Jay Nixon reinforced some already-stated education policy goals Thursday in a St. Louis County visit ahead of Monday's State of The State address, and also discussed school security in a visit to Oak Brook Elementary School in the Parkway School District. After meeting with district administrators in private and then visiting an Early Education classroom, he talked in the school's library of creating a "seamless" path of education from Pre-K programs to college. Governor Nixon said he would request "additional resources" to fund early education programs, noting the connection between Pre-K and success later in life. The debit card option is new for Missouri taxpayers this tax season, according to Missouri State Treasurer Clint Zweifel. Zweifel's office released the details of the new option Friday in the following news release. State Treasurer Clint Zweifel (ZWY-ful) announced today citizens have a new option to choose from when getting a tax refund from the State of Missouri. Taxpayers are now able to get a refund in the form of a debit card whether their return is filed on paper or electronically. The new refund option is for taxpayers who file individual income tax returns or Property Tax Credit (PTC) claims. This is the first year the Department of Revenue has offered the refund debit card. Other than that gaffe, it has limited appeal. There are very few people that have the problem of filing income taxes and not having a bank account. I would say that there is a very high probability that those that fit that profile are filing fraudulent returns that generate a refund.
