A Parkway South graduate was shot to death while delivering pizzas earlier this year. Now, another pizza delivery driver murder reportedly has St. Louis County police going undercover to catch criminals.
St. Louis County Police Chief Tim Fitch said undercover officers will begin delivering pizzas to parts of St. Louis County in effort to deter armed robberies, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The announcement comes after an Imo’s delivery driver was shot and killed Monday night while delivering pizzas in Dellwood. Police said the driver was robbed of the pizzas and a cellphone. As previously reported by Patch, Parkway South High School graduate and West County resident Daniil Maksimenko, 22, was ambushed, shot and killed in May while delivering a pizza. Rep. Todd Akin's office said Karl Rove must have "misspoke" when he reportedly made a "murder" joke about the U.S. Senate candidate. What do you think, a joke or out of line?
According to Politico, in a closed-door fundraiser at the Republican National Convention, Karl Rove reportedly joked about the murder of Missouri GOP Senate candidate Todd Akin. “We should sink Todd Akin. If he’s found mysteriously murdered, don’t look for my whereabouts!” joked Rove, according to a Businessweek report of the fundraiser included in the Politico article. A third person was charged with crimes related to the robbery and murder of Daniil Maksimenko, a 22-year-old Ballwin resident. Davionte Williams, 22, of the 4200 block of Cleveland in St. Louis, was charged Friday with second-degree murder and armed criminal action. A St. Louis County Police report said that Williams was one of three people who robbed and Maksimenko on May 19. The Ballwin resident was delivering pizza in Hillsdale when he was shot and killed. A police report said that Williams was not the gunman. Another suspect charged in the crime, Chester Romelle Woods, 20, also was ruled out as the person who shot Maksimenko. The weapon law enforcement believe was used in the murder-suicide involving a Ballwin area family was purchased from a local business.
A handgun law enforcement said Ballwin-area resident Christine Adewunmi used to kill her three daughters then herself was purchased about a month before the incident, the Crawford County Sheriff's Department reported Tuesday. The bodies of Christine Adewunmi, 37, along with daughters Lauren, age 8, Samantha, age 6 and 3-year-old Kate were found Saturday at Blue Springs Ranch & Resort in Crawford County. Sheriff Randy E. Martin said in a written statement that husband and father Leonard Adewunmi reported his wife and three children missing on Friday.
