Upscale Workout Clothier Opens In Ballwin

Ballwin Grove shopping center is home to FitShop.

The business looks to target consumers like themselves who might wear "contemporary" clothing as an "outfit of choice," even when they're not on their way to or from a workout. The Ballwin Grove location was attractive for the proximity to nearby gyms in the area and to a consumer demographic with money to afford a higher pricepoint. The store carries brands …

Veritas Making the Move to Ellisville

The specialty wine shop and restaurant is moving down the road from Chesterfield to Ellisville to a new store that will offer a better layout for its fine dining operations.

Veritas Gateway to Food and Wine is leaving Chesterfield to re-open down the road in Ellisville with a new location that will offer a more comprehensive wining and dining experience.  The move is being driven by a desire to use a space that is better suited for the restaurant side of the operation while also more closely incorporating its retail wine shop, according to owner Stephanie Stitt. Veritas will close Jan. 15 and will open sometime in April at the corner of Clarkson and Clayton roads, with a grand opening event set for May 1.  "When we opened eight years ago, we did not intend to be a restaurant as much as it turned into," Stitt said. "It's really taken off and has a life of its own. The small kitchen space that we put in back …

Yay. Much better dining option than the Walmart 'deli'. Looks like it will go into the place Straubs was. Good for Veritas, good for Ellisville. I am a fan of what they are doing and will go (and spend my $$) more now that they are even closer. And good use for that space, finally.   more ›

I had extra time in STL last week. (I do not live in STL). I am a curious person. I had never noticed this before. I went in. I was amazed at how clean and well arranged it was. I bought a couple of pictures and was pleased. Thank you for having an area where we can donate items to others and know that it will be displayed and kept in an orderly manner.
