Thursday's winter storm has brought another round of school closings for Friday at major school districts in the West and Central St. Louis County area.
UPDATED: 7:55 p.m.- A heavy load of snow and ice from Thursday's winter storm has canceled school in the West and Central St. Louis County area for another day. Fox2 News will be helping Patch keep you informed of any cancellations for Friday by adding them to the list below, which will be updated throughout the day. These public school districts will be closed on Friday: Check with the closing information on Fox2Now.com for private school closings. The cancellations include all American Airlines flights in or out of the city after 3 p.m.
The mix of snow, sleet and ice hitting the St. Louis area has forced dozens of cancellations at Lambert International Airport, including all American Airlines flights in or out of the city after 3 p.m. More than 40 arrivals and 40 departures had been cancelled by 8:30 a.m., according to the airport’s blog, and a check of online flight information at 11:10 a.m. showed that number had risen to more than 160 total cancelled flights. Cancellations decisions are made by the individual airlines. You can see the status of your flight by visiting Lambert’s website.

1.) With the increased traffic on the Daniel Boone Bridge due to lane closures on the Blanchette, why did they decide to do blasting now? It doesn't make sense to have closures on one of the alternate routes. Drivers in the Lake St. Louis/Wentzville area do not have easy access to the Page extension. 2.)
